Our project

``Transhumance by Made in Slow`` is the first Project in which the platform Made in Slow applied this philosophy.

Transhumant activity represents one of the last great migration of herbivores across Europe and is in danger of extinction.

This loss would not only affect the pastoral activity; also at serious risk the more than 800 years of history preserved in the glens, cords and transhumant paths in the form of tradition, culture, gastronomy, folklore and even a common language.

Our aim

In ``Transhumance by Made in Slow`` our objective is that transhumant activity is maintained and, to do so, merino transhumant wool is the main element to be revalued.

Based on an innovative and sustainable approach, the end user will directly and actively contribute to improving the living conditions of transhumant herders, thus helping to preserve this activity.

How?

As a first step, from Boldi Filati collaboration, we developed several yarns containing a story and added value directly related to transhumant activity.

Based on this yarns, ``Transhumance by Made in Slow`` developed different products fashion oriented.

Enabling commercialization of the yarn itself for the industrial sector and knitting:

With all this, we are able to offer yarns to national and international brands, for knitwear manufacturing both industrial and handmade.

Drapery fabrics developed from these yarns and final garment.

In short: the creation of all kinds of products related to these yarns so that we can bring our philosophy to consumers.

Traceability(I)

Significant part of our project is to ensure the transparency of the process, so it is given special importance to the traceability system.

Direct monitoring of all phases of production, allows us to identify each yarn, fabric and final garment with its origin. Thus, the end users will be able to connect to transhumant herds, the shepherds and the heritage values their consumption helps to preserve.

To ensure and make visible
our philosophy we have created
an inner label and a hang tag.

Will continue…

New synergies will be established with different groups related to the textile world, art and culture that will provide ``Transhumance by Made in Slow`` added value of the final product that will be beneficial for both the transhumant group, as for end users.

Thus it is reinforcing our work philosophy:

Products with soul.

Because each story counts, Made in Slow.
